Gabby Douglas, the three-time Olympic champion in gymnastics, won’t be making her comeback this weekend as planned. She shared on Instagram that she tested positive for Covid-19 and had to withdraw from the Winter Cup in Kentucky. Gabby, who last competed in the Rio Olympics almost eight years ago, expressed her disappointment but thanked everyone for their support. She remains hopeful and looks forward to returning to the competition floor soon.

In 2012, Douglas won two gold medals at the Olympics, and in 2016, she won another gold as part of a team. She wasn’t happy with her performance in 2016 and took a break from social media to think about things.

Last July, she hinted at making a comeback to the sport she loves. Now, at 28 years old, she was set to compete in three events at the recent meet: beam, floor, and vault. This competition marks the start of the year for athletes aiming for Paris 2024.
