Lionel Messi showed off some cool moves in Inter Miami’s 2-0 win against Real Salt Lake. In one play, he skillfully lifted the ball over an injured opponent, Andrew Brody, who was on the ground. Messi had a few other great moments in the game, making fans excited for Miami’s MLS season. He played alongside his former Barcelona buddies Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. Another player, Robert Taylor, scored the first goal after getting a pass from Messi. Later, Messi teamed up with Suárez, leading to Diego Gómez scoring the second goal. Although Suárez missed a chance, and MacMath blocked Messi’s shot, Miami had a victorious start to the new MLS season.

This season, everyone’s expecting a lot from Martino’s Inter Miami team. They won the Leagues Cup last year after Messi joined.

Messi was close to scoring in the 17th minute against Real Salt Lake, but Justen Glad blocked his free-kick. Later, Julian Gressel missed a great chance to make it 2-0 after Messi’s tricky run and cross.

Real Salt Lake had their chances in the second half. Andrés Gómez missed a shot, and Brayan Vera’s header was saved by Miami’s goalie, Drake Callender.

Gómez’s goal secured the win for Miami. Their next game is against LA Galaxy in Carson, California on Sunday.

Messi’s first full season in the US has created a huge demand for Miami’s tickets. On Wednesday, the average price was $185 per seat, way more expensive than last season’s opening game, which was about $27.
